Thanks to you, PulmCCM had an incredible year in 2012, growing from Internet blip to one of the most-visited medical blogs, with over 50,000 visits and 150,000 page views monthly worldwide.

Now, I’m asking you for your financial support, and in return, offering you the chance to share in PulmCCM’s success in 2013.

To grow and thrive, PulmCCM needs to evolve from a one-man blog to a community of diverse opinions and perspectives. In 2013, you’ll hear from an abundance of colleagues I’ve worked with or know online. It’s only fair to offer payment for their hard work; this is projected to cost at least $10,000 in 2013.

Thousands of people have downloaded and are enjoying the PulmCCM app, but it needs a complete redesign to reach its potential: this will cost between $5,500 and $10,000. The result will be a vastly better experience for everyone using it, and will help keep the app free.

Advertising on the site paid most of the bills for 2012, but the current amount of revenue can’t cover these new “next-level” expenses. With traffic and email subscribers continuing to grow at ~20% a month (now with 7,000 email subscribers), though, I feel confident the site will become financially stable in the near future.

So to reach these goals, I’m asking for short-term financial support from you, the people who use PulmCCM. I’ve created a “crowdfunding” campaign on Indiegogo, and you can view the video pitch below. As you’ll see this video is aimed toward the general public. Indiegogo only allows donations through their site.

If rather than donating, you would like to invest in PulmCCM to help it reach the above goals, with the risk and potential return that come with that, please email me at pulmccmcentral@gmail.com and I’d be happy to discuss these opportunities. For anyone who invested in the short-lived Indiegogo investment campaign (before they converted it to “donation only”), of course I will be honoring those commitments.

I hope you’ll make a donation or an investment (or both) to help PulmCCM get to the next level. I’m grateful for your support that made PulmCCM so successful in 2012. With your help, I’m looking forward to an even stronger 2013!
